Why write a Spirituality story based in Las Vegas? Crazy?!?

Why is a book on spirituality based in Las Vegas? that some people call Sin City. We’ll talk about that. You would think that if you were writing a book on spirituality, if it was a story that you were writing you would base the story in in the Himalayas,
on the top of a mountain, or in the middle of a beautiful garden, or a nice beach, but why set it why set the context, why set the backdrop in Las Vegas? When that idea occurred to me, I took that as a challenge, because the reason why this book exists is a reminder to us, a huge reminder to us that spirituality is not about spending time in the mountains and the rivers and the pastures. Those are very helpful and peaceful for us but spirituality has to help us in our day-to-day lives. If spirituality cannot help us in the middle of Las Vegas, the bastion of consumerism, of pleasures, if spirituality cannot help us in that situation then what good is spirituality. So, the book is not about morality and I don’t want to give that impression. The book is about us figuring out how we can achieve peace and happiness while living our regular lives because there are only a small fraction of the population that can live in a monastery, that can be celibate, that can spend all your time in the Himalayas. I want to write a book for the 99% of us who cannot leave our daily lives. Can spirituality not help us? Why would spirituality deny us? It wouldn’t. That’s why I wrote this book in Las Vegas as a huge reminder to us that spirituality can help us anywhere in this world. And, just as a quick tidbit we had an incident in Las Vegas with the characters. We had to take that out to keep the book short.
We had to take that out to keep the book short. To me it was very interesting to put the story in Las Vegas, quite a challenge. I hope you enjoy reading the book. I would love to hear your feedback. I the soul honor you the soul. At your core, you are peace. Be who you are, be peace. Be peace…
