Paris: The Local Way – Shopping in the Canal Saint-Martin Neighborhood

Here we are on Rue Lancri which is a
fantastic place to do any kind of vintage shopping that you may want to do. Straight down this way we’ve got Chez Chiffon We have Thanks God I’m a VIP which
are fantastic vintage shops to visit. Over here we have Rue Beaurepaire which
is a great place to do any kind of jewelry shopping that you might want to
do. Also, we’ve got a lot of boutiques, independent designers along this road. Here we are at Liza corn with Emily. What
goes on here? Here we have the boutique and the atelier and here we make
all of the prototypes for the Lisa Korn collection. Here in the store? Yeah. How
would you describe the style of Lisa Korn? Lisa’s style is a little eclectic, and it
has a lot of rock influences so she likes and lots lots of chains lots of
layering. People are always looking for something a little bit different they
want to be a little bit different from their friends and have something that’s
unique. So you make the prototypes here?Yeah. And then what happens? And then we send them through to production, and most of our collection is produced in France.
And then it comes back, and we sell it in the boutique. We’re outside Dante and Maria now which
is one of my favorite jewelry shops, my favorite independent boutiques in the
canals and that’s our area it may be looks a little bit nondescript outside
so make sure you look for that pale blue exterior we’re going to talk to the owner, Agnes, right now Agnes, what was your inspiration for
the jewelry that you create here? Well think it’s about nature and vintage
jewelry from the 19th century, from victorian and that kind of jewelry.
Absolutely. I see you have some wonderful and interior decoration here as well. Was
it you who designed the space? Well, rediscovering from the flea market and I
didn’t need to do something in reality. I just pick up i like for years,
and I just put it altogether. What I like about your work is that it’s incredibly
long and plunging. Most of the pieces are unique and I’m trying for the price is
not too too expensive
