Parables of Jesus: The Parable of the Talents

Parables of Jesus: The Parable of the Talents

For the kingdom of heaven is
as a man travelling into a far country, who called
his own servants, and delivered unto
them his goods. And onto one he gave five
talents, to another two, and to another one;
to every man according to his several ability; and
straightway took his journey. Then he that had
received the five talents went and traded with
the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise he that had
received two talents, he also gained other two. But he that had received one
went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money. After a long time, the
lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that had
received five talents came and brought other
five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto
me five talents: behold, I have gained beside
them five talents more. His lord said unto
him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant:
thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make
thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the
joy of thy lord. He also that had received
two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto
me two talents: behold, I have gained two other
talents beside them. His lord said unto
him, Well done, good and faithful
servant; thou hast been faithful over a
few things, I will make thee ruler
over many things: enter thou into the
joy of thy lord. Then he which had received the
one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that
thou art an hard man, reaping where thou
hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast
not strawed: and I was afraid, and went and hid thy
talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His lord answered and
said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful
servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not,
and gather where I have not strawed: thou oughtest
therefore to have put my money to the
exchangers, and at my coming I should have received
mine own with usury. Take therefore the
talent from him, and give it to him
which hath ten talents. For unto every one that
hath shall be given, and he shall have
abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken
away even that he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable
servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping
and gnashing of teeth.

  3. Jesus, I am lost because of the confusion of good and bad, especially of light and dark, like Isaiah 5:20 said.

  4. "If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?" KJV. I think the Lord is asking us to be responsible with our financial affairs and spend wisely. Saving. Tithing. Getting only what we need and investing when the Holy Spirit moves us in a particular direction. I myself am guilty of blowing money and it usually happens when I don't have things in order in my life. So take the time to think about what and where you're money is going. Say no to that corner store.

  5. I was that man that buried his talent, I got a beating for it. I stayed behind while the others went and sold themselves. I did not, I stood my ground and was punished for it

  6. -Usury wasn’t pious
    -Condemnation for scarcity
-seems easier for a wealthy man to enter the kingdom of heaven
    (What about this is Christian?)

  7. Thank you Jesus for this parables that only few can understand.. I am not not skilled, intelligent or smart.. Either memorize your scriptures.. But I understand what you said.. Thank you Father Yeshua for the love and the wisdom and courage to stay strong..

  8. The scope of this message goes beyond the temporal talents such as art, music, or sports. I think it teaches the principle of being productive with using your knowledge or testimony. If you manage it well and build upon it, you can find greater abundance. If you allow your testimony to go inert, you can eventually lose what you once had.

The Savior literally taught investing in this parable lol.

  9. Forgive me Lord, I may not bring very many talents with what I have been given. Not many people listen to me or care of what I say. But, give me strength for I would rather fail you trying than not try at all. Thanks for your blessings Holy Father and my Lord. Please forgive me my many, many sins and failures. Amen.

  12. 2 CORINTHIANS 6: 14-18

14 Do not get into uneven yoke with unbelievers, because what a mixture of righteousness and unrighteousness? Or what is the association of light and darkness?
15 And what is Christ's attachment to Baliyal? Or what is the relationship of an unbeliever with a believer?
16 And what is the relationship of the temple of God with the idols? Because we are the temple of the living God; As God has said, I will settle in them and walk in them; And I will be their God, and they will be my people.
17 Therefore the Lord says, come out from among them and remain separate; And do not touch the unclean thing, then I will receive you.
18And you will be my father, and you will be my son and daughters: this is the word of the Almighty Lord God.

  17. All things are composites of material, and therefore should diversity stand. Surely God blesses us with many gifts, and these gifts are to be glorified in unification with our Lord. And so these many blessings compose a greater roll, as all things are compositions, blessed by the work of God. May the knowledge I give you be kept because of God, not because of me; glorify God for this knowledge, not me. For just as God has blessed many of us with our gifts, we too should use them to glorify God.

All things are a composite, even God. For though that God be one, He is also three in its’ entirety. The LORD delights in diversity, for such is His will.
