when st. Margaret Mary Alacoque was only four years old she told God that she would serve him with her entire life her mother later sent her to study at a convent where the sisters love of the Blessed Sacrament made a great impression on her at the young lady st. Margaret Mary had to care for her sick mother which was very difficult especially since she couldn’t stand the sight of blood nevertheless she cleansed her mother’s wounds several times per day offering the sacrifice to God she could see that God was preparing her for something great spreading the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus across the world st. Margaret’s care for her mother prepared her to work as a nurse when she entered the convent which she also offered as a sacrifice but ultimately God wanted her to spread the message of his great love for us all Saint Margaret Mary had spiritual visions of Jesus revealing his Sacred Heart showing infinite love and mercy she had been blessed with the task of spreading a great devotion throughout the world of Christ’s divine mercy nobody around Saint Margaret Mary believed her visions both her mother Superior and her spiritual director thought these visions were just her imagination getting carried away Saint Margaret Mary offered this suffering to God and her prayers were answered as a great priest confirmed to the convent that her visions were in fact real State Margaret Mary carried this divine message until her death to learn more about Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque and other Saints and blessed’s watch my Catholic family here on EWTN you
