Join me this Saturday for All Souls Day – A Moment with the Bishop – October 28, 2019

This week we enter into the month of
November, which for us as Catholics is the moment to both honor the Saints and
pray for the dead. This coming Saturday is All Souls Day,
when we pray for all those who are still being purified of their sins after death,
in their movement towards the Kingdom of Heaven.
How efficacious and powerful our prayer is for them. I would like to invite all
of you, all the diocese, to a special Mass that I will be celebrating this Saturday
November 2nd, at Resurrection Cemetery, in Madison, at 11 a.m. And we will pray for
all the deceased members of our diocese, but with a particular attention to
Bishop Morlino, who this month of November we will mark the first
anniversary of his unexpected passing from this life. And we still mourn him,
and pray for him, and honor his legacy. And I’m particularly grateful for the
leadership that he offered here, for so many years, that I have been graced to
step into. After the mass, which again is at 11:00, we will process to Bishop
Morlino’s grave and offer a rosary and prayers for him. So, again, I invite all of
you to join us as we pray for all of our deceased loved ones who have gone before us, but this year with a particular devotion and affection for Bishop
Morlino, as we both pray for him and also honor his legacy and his leadership for
15 years here in the Diocese of Madison. Come join us this Saturday, 11 a.m.,
Resurrection Cemetery.
