Is There a Spiritual Diet? – Teal Swan

IS THERE A SPIRITUAL DIET? The question that has been
selected this week is: “What diet can I eat to live
the most spiritual life?” I’m really excited to receive this
question, because diet has been an obsession, not just a passion
for me, for seven years. When we are talking about what diet
is the best for a spiritual life, what you are basically saying is: “What
diet is the best for me health-wise?” Because health and spirituality go
hand-in-hand. They are a married partner. You can’t really take one way and
have the other one remain intact. They are a vibrational match,
health and spirituality. So, what you want to be doing, is trying
to get your diet to a point where the foods that you are eating
are in their whole and complete form, where they are physiologically natural. So, what you want to be doing is
eliminating simple carbohydrates. You want to eliminate sugar.
You want to eliminate dairy. You want to eliminate meat
and processed foods. Many of you may know that part of
my job is to work as a medical intuitive. So, when I am asserting this opinion of
mine, it is the opinion of somebody who is watching energy in the body.
When I’m watching somebody eat something, I can see the way that your
energy either resonates or does not resonate with
this specific food group. And while people, all people are
different, and so they can deal with foods differently and resonate
with different foods, (you know, one person might have an easier
time digesting meat than another person), in general, the same way that we could
speak about all pesticides being bad for a human
biological system, we can talk about foods, in general, being bad
or good for a human biological system. And that’s the foods that I am listing
here today. So, the worst foods. I’m going to list them from worst to
least worst, are as follows. The worst foods you can put in your body
energetically, in terms of what I’m seeing, are substitute sugars. Things like
saccharin, aspartame and sorbitol. The human body absolutely has a reaction
to those chemical compounds like nothing I’ve ever seen. At times, a body reacts to those worse than
they would even to a drug like heroin. So, no substitute sugars. The 2nd one that
is the worst on the list for people is preservatives and pesticides.
That’s pretty self-explanatory. Alcohol is after that. I tend to disagree,
based on what I see, that even a glass of wine is good for a human system.
I have never watched a person’s energy, regardless of their
body type, agree with alcohol. The next worst would be white flour.
Any of your super simple starches. Your body treats those exactly
like it would be a sugar. Sugar is an absolute
nightmare for the body. But, if you break a carbohydrate down,
to the point where it is a simple carbohydrate, your body is treating it
exactly the same way that it would a sugar and sugar is a poison. So no white flour and no sugar.
Margarine is the next worst after that. And after that it’s dairy.
I have never met a person who can handle dairy, even when
they think that they can. When we’re talking about a diet that
is in line with health and aligned with spirituality, it is very essential
to eliminate dairy. In general, you want to eliminate
animal proteins. The next one after that is fried foods.
Those are absolutely denatured foods. And one after that would be meat.
As far as energy is concerned, the best diet for a human to be on
would be raw food, no animal protein diet. Contrary to former belief, it is possible
to get your proteins and get every single compound that you need
for your body, on a raw food diet. If that sounds a little bit difficult
to do, which I have to admit, really really living healthfully is a lifestyle
which you have to work your way into. The next best after raw food is
the vegan lifestyle. That would be the answer to how to live
in line with health and spirituality. Those foods that are whole, that are
plant based, are the ones which human beings in general resonate
with the best energetically. And likewise, their cells and their entire
biological system resonate with, the easiest and best. That being said, we
can get into a lot of trouble here, with people trying to get into a lifestyle
of health, because a lot of times the changes they make, create so
much of a problem for them in terms of: “Well now I’m denying myself constantly.”
Now this is such a huge stretch for me to get into this new way of living, that I am
causing more problems for myself mentally than I am making up for
in physical changes. This is why I say that, even though
I’ve outlined here what the best type of a diet is to be on, it’s best to, sort
of, work your way incrementally into this. The way to do that is to first change
the thoughts that you are thinking. The reason is this: When you change
the thought you are thinking, change your focus
and go on the spiritual path, you will find that your physiology
will resonate at a different level. That instantly means that
the more and more spiritually you get, certain foods will resonate
or not resonate with you. This is the real reason why, in a lot
of spiritual circles, you’ll see the same kind of diets among what people
would call spiritual masters. It’s because they have ascended to a
certain level where they only feed foods which are able to resonate with where
they are physiologically and mentally, are these certain kinds of foods.
So, while diet can help you in your journey to find spirituality, if you
are following the path of spirituality, you will be naturally inspired
towards these types of foods. So, you can play it one way or the other
way or a mix of both which is my suggestion. And, that is the way to get
yourself to a healthy spiritual diet. Subtitles by the Amara.org community

  1. I personally don't believe veganism is for everyone. I would actually like to try it out but unfortunately where I live the food that a vegan diet usually consists of (fruits and vegetables) is very expensive, whereas meat is relatively cheaper and comes from places that don't mistreat the animals. I believe everyone has their own way with food, and should follow their intuition. For example, when I stopped eating processed sugars for a week I felt so much better, more energized and focused. The same goes with dairy, I can't digest milk but once in a while my body asks me for a glass of milk and when it does I digest it properly. So really, do what is best for you!

  2. I disagree..I have been raw vegan for 2 Yrs but it made me overly obsessive..I drifted from god because I became more selfish and vain..at least my motives were vain at first. Now I enjoy meat without side effects..it feels like a blessing when appreciated for its added nutrition to a rounded diet. Dairy…is the only thing I can say would be fine without but ..if you restrict yourself from all whole foods.it can lead to OCD…if know from experience. Just skip the chemicals and processed..majority plants and all is well

  3. Teal I think you need to take a look at this. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is a long-chain fatty acid crucial for human health. It is a fat that can be found in a variety of animal foods and some marine algae, occurring most abundantly in some ocean fish and shellfish. While adults suffer a range of problems when they consume a diet limited in DHA (e.g., depression, Alzheimer’s Disease, age-related cognitive decline), it is the fetal impacts I will highlight here. This fatty acid is necessary for brain development of the fetus and the growing child. Deficiencies in DHA affect intelligence, problem solving, and eyesight. I want to be very clear: low intake of DHA by the mother results in lower IQ scores and suboptimal brain development in children. This fat belongs to a class of lipids called omega 3, which are essential to obtain in the diet because the body cannot manufacture them. Like many essential items we derive from our diet, there are different forms that occur in plants than in animals. This is another case where the plant form (called alpha-linolenic acid, abbreviated ALA) must be converted through a complex process to create DHA. This conversion process is inefficient, and even in healthy adults only 5–10% of the consumed ALA ends up becoming DHA. Further, many factors inhibit this process, including high intake of omega-6 fatty acids, which are exceedingly common in the Standard American Diet and in vegetarian diets. Therefore, it is important to consume preformed DHA—which is the kind found abundantly in many fish and shellfish. — source Arthur Haines.

  4. A vegan diet would kill me as I have SIBO. Also, those masters/gurus probably won't be having children anymore (in this lifetime), so they don't have to worry about their reproductive health. There are no groups of people who have survived for thousands of years on a Vegan diet. You need the nutrients in animal meat to reproduce. If you feel you have trouble digesting meat, get some enzymes or other herbal aids to promote digestion. Better yet, go to a Functional medicine doctor to test if you are allergic to certain foods (such as eggs or gluten). Do cut out sugar though.

  5. Raw fruits hold the highest vibration as well as raw honey. – The more spiritual aligned i become the less i eat in general and the less cooked/processed and non animal food i can tolerate. http://creationislove.com/humans-are-frugivores-were-designed-to-eat-mostly-fruit/

  6. Hi Teal, love your talks btw. Please can you talk about dark organic chocolate, caffeine, GMOS !! and if you can't always buy organic then I hear washing veg and fruit in vinegar water really helps? Would LOVE to hear your thoughts . Thanks x
Light and Love from the UK.

  7. What about b12? You cannot get it from a plant base diet….i am vegeterian I would go vegan easily but I am worried of bad consequences and I don't believe in supplements

    1) By "substitute sugars" do you mean "artificial sweeteners"? Because those are quite different things.. Lets say maple syrup is sugar substitute, but it is not artificial sweetener. Are natural sweeteners OK? Like coconut sugar, agave syrup, maple syrup, honey, stevia.
    2) What do you mean by "white flour"? Do you mean wheat flour? And what about rice flour, coconut flour, oat flour… basically all non-gluten flours? Are those OK? And what about brown flour (or wholemeal flour)? As I understand it still contains gluten, but it doesn't fall under the category mentionet here as a "white flour".
    3) Is goat/sheep dairy as bad as cow dairy?
    4) If fried food is bad for you is the roasted (in oven) bad as well? Usually to roast food oil is used as well.

  9. This is stupid. How can there be one universal diet? It makes a big difference if you live in Bali or the North Pole. I agree on eliminating sugars & pesticides. But what is the difference of killing a plant and eating it or an animal? Life and death belong together. Please someone tell me what's the deal with eating meat (preferred wild/grass-fed. I'm with you on not eating meat from factory-animals). Plus: Will the lion ever reach enlightenment or do other rules apply for other species? Thank you

  10. I was eating the best organic vegan diet on the planet………..and then whoooosh my twin flame COMES along and I fall deeply in LOVE with her and the runs off… plus start ascending into 5D and my diet as gone to pot…plus even started drinking alcohol again and gained 9lb🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢HELP💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

  11. It's true that even in India people are now finding it hard to digest dairy but I have grown up with cows that we fed ourselves and we consumed so much raw milk, curd and milk and nothing absolutely nothing happened to those people. I just feel it boils down to how everything which is mass produced has become harmful including are veggies and fruits. I feel bloated on raw food cos it's not organic. Not sure if organic is organic. Must go back to growing our own food I guess.

  12. It's the best Diet! Yeah, good to know that I'm there already <3 Thank you for speaking the truth

  13. Sorbitol is natural… and so many vegetables and fruits contain sorbitol…now I'm confused…can anybody help please?

  14. Please, would you make a video about BREATHERIANISM? I would love to know your opinion about that. Thank you 🙏😊

  15. Every diet is a spiritual diet, as every single thing in this world is of spiritual nature.
Sure, there are certain foods that may help with chakra clearing, but we cannot really label them as 'more spiritual foods'.
Listen to your body,Do experiments, Choose the diet that makes you feel best energetically.
You may try the things out suggested by the 'experts', but you don't have to follow. After all, it's your body.

  16. Intresting fact to share in relation to Teal’s comment on alcohol, even in small doses, not being good for us. Which was a statement in 2012 despite a lot of “scientific” research claiming otherwise. Studies now in 2018 are revealing that what Teal said here about alcohol consumption, is actually true. It’s not good for you. Even a small amount, once in a while, can cause health issues. How very interesting.

  17. I know how bad refined sugar and flour are but god I can't drop them, I'm just a regular not-so-healthy vegan, maaaaybe someday I'll turn raw vegan

  18. If I don't eat meat and fish I get anemic and sick af. The theory that only veganism is a "spiritual diet" is complete bs. Sick of this higher than thou vegan cultist crap

  19. I am eating for 30 years only raw costs. The reason is, meditation becomes much better and more blissful. If you don’t believe that, just eat only for one day raw: fruits, salad or vegetables. Don’t eat any seeds, kernels …
You will recognize how light your body feels and meditation is so much better… The feelings are much more intense and the spiritual energy is going natural upwards…

  20. I LOVE that she didn't say that coffee was bad. I like my coffee black (like my men) so artificial sweeteners, sugar, and dairy products don't apply.

  21. I agree with the last part. Instead of forcing yourself to follow a certain diet it’s better to change your vibration through meditation first then your body will start craving natural food and will also be sensitive to low vibrational food. I used to dislike salad now I love it. Also I became very sensitive to processed food so I eliminated those from my diet. I feel that the next step will be to stop eating sugar. I woke up today thinking about all the way I could replace all the sugary food from my diet.

  22. For everyone who is not believing her and thinks she is making all that up for what ever reason. She is telling you the most up to date Information there is diet wise when you actually look at the studies made and many of them are even 7 jears later only slowly coming to the public eye.

  23. Hello Teal!

Thank you very much for your work and courage, first of all.

Secondly, I've run into a very desperate situation with a younger sister and was wondering if you had any advice or recommendation?

She had battled with social anxiety for a while and, when a co-worker and superior of hers, harassed her, she looked for assistance in our typical health institute, in which she was prescribed with Xanax (yes, not the best solution at all.. =/ ).

After taking it for a little while, she started noticing all the ("side") effects and decided to quit – doing so suddenly, which caused even more damage. Later, consulting with the doctor, she advised to go back on it and slowly decrease the quantity until she could leave it completely

Although she did this, she was left with a lot of damages. She developed many food allergies (to the point of barely being able to eat anything – she said it would make her feel like she was dying and losing consciousness) to later even being affected by smells (like deodorant and perfume) to a level of sensitivity that everyone around her considers "crazy".

I've been in the spiritual path for a while and tend to have the view of "everything can be cured" and much is due to the power of our mind. However, she is convinced it is only trough nutrition that this will be solved. She has since stopped working (year and a half), doesn't have any friends, never leaves the house – to me, it seems she is sinking more and more into her own created terror.

I've been trying to share a different perspective, but she keeps refusing to look past the physical factor and the Xanax.

I have been supporting her, giving her the resources for food and vitamins she says she requires, but it seems like a never ending cycle.

    How can I help her?

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

    All the best!

  24. I wish when people talk about dieting they would focus more on the foods we should eat rather than the ones we should not. Okay, raw food diet, okay, raw fruits and vegetables obviously. How about beaans? Many beans need to be cooked so they won't be toxic. The same can be said of cashews. What about raw honey? It's not an animal protein but it's made by animals, so is it vegan? If I wanted to roast a peanut rather than eating it raw is this okay?

I'm not ready to give up most of the no-no foods anyway. I incorporate rare fruits and veggies into my daily diet. I drink water infused with lemons and cucumbers as my main source of liquids. I make a point to eat dried beans as to get a whole grain into the mix, don't know if this qualifies as a spiritual choice since it's not raw. It could be vegan, but I cook it with chicken because I'm not ready to give up meat anyway. I still drink high protein / low sugar slimfast because it's a easy way to get minerals into my diet, but I guess that's one of the worst things I'm doing because it has artificial sugar. I can't eat regular Simfast because I have diabetes. It's going to be a while before I give up the coffee and the powdered creamer.

  25. Do you still think the same? I was veg for 9 years and I think that disconnected me from my natural human been

  26. Raw meat has the highest frequentie and plants the lowest. Raw milk products like kefir and raw eggs are the healtiest things to eat.

  27. After 29 years being vegetarian / half vegan i turned to carnivore. After watching “Vegan: Epitomy of malnourishment” I knew it was time for 180 degree turn. Never felt better. Keto Carnivore <3

  28. Watch some ex-vegan interview before👍🏻👍🏻 you eat your own body because vegan lifestyle is depleting you 😉😉😉😉

  29. Wow. I have been following my intuition around food for 11 years now and it has led me to exactly the same conclusions. I have not yet been able to see vibrations but mindfully keeping my attention on my inner physical processes like digestion, bodily fluids and overall energy levels and lately also feelings and thoughts arising in relation to the food I am eating has changed my diet completely. I went from eating refined sugar, dairy, meat, eggs, preservatives, simple carbohydrates as a child to step-by-step cutting out all of those things while gradually integrating more and more fruit, veggies and generally whole and natural, pesticide-free foods into my diet. After maintaining a predominantly vegan lifestyle for a couple of years I have been sensing lately that I am now slowly but surely shifting towards a raw, plant-based diet that is entirely free from the "worst foods" mentioned in this video. My energy levels are higher than ever and I am wide awake all day everyday. I feel alive and much lighter. Watching this video and hearing about your vibrational perspective is so encouraging for me and I value my inner guidance now more than ever. Thank you Teal!

  30. Please talk more about these subjects. I'd appreciate if you talk abour different foods in detail. Also about when, and how much to eat.

  31. Many people believe that if you are jucing/eating a plant based diet that you should supplement with a amino acid powder because the human body requires certain animal proteins that you can not get from meat. Is that true or is it possible to get all your essential amino acids from plants?

  32. Well-said and I agree after the difference of when I decided to go vegan I believe it put me on to a spiritual path. I was able to value myself more, open up to bloom my empathetic self more, become myself more, care less about ego-related details of life, leave behind people who were bad for my life. Then I started aiming for more plant-based and got into yoga and meditation intuitively and that was a real kick start into a new life, a new world, a new way of existing and experiencing life. And I felt and looked great and got crazy strong too lol

  33. Im here because my spiritual journey took a complete and abrupt left turn in Dec 2018 which is when I discovered that Im a starseed. Since then I've had many ups and downs (its May 2019 now). While some of the changes were somewhat large many others came on slowly but the biggest and most shocking one, to me, is my sudden repulsion towards eating meat. Not repulsion towards other people eating it but towards me eating it. I NEVER would have thought I'd feel this way about meat EVER! Im the last person who would have said "Yeah maybe one day I'll go vegan". I had already cut dairy out of my diet because Im pretty much allergic to most of it so I was hanging onto meat as my last indulgence. I think going vegan is likely a natural progression in my case in that Im constantly striving to raise my energy through my thoughts and actions so I think just the small amount of progress I've made has pushed me toward veganism. I agree that the raw food diet is the best but its hard to maintain so I do a bit raw and a bit cooked. I never felt better, though, the one time I maintained a raw diet for 6 weeks. Whoa! I felt like a completely different person with the amount of energy I had.

  34. I tried vegan for 3 weeks. However I noticed the effects of iron deficiency. But I actually really want to become vegan, I just want a sufficient amount of iron.

  35. Honest, authentic, beautiful Teal. Thank you so much for your sincere and helpful words. You are a wonder!

  36. Before I watch I’m going to post my question and at the end of watching , see if you have answered haha . Is fasting everyday 8pm until 12am proactive or hindering my growth . Thank You 🙏

  37. I get very sleepy when I eat meat. I was vegetarian for over 7 years, stopped during pregnancy & off & on vegan. I've gained weight bk but it's probably due to lack of exercise, I'm off balance mentally, I'm off my time balance so I don't feel as if I have time to work out. I often feel pain. I'm going to try raw for a while. When I eat regular food I can't stay awake. 2 days of fruit only b4 4p & life is awesome smh

  38. I was vegan for almost two years. It wasn't working for me so I reverted to eating how I previously had.
I understand that due to differences in gut microbiome and genetic factors, we all assimilate nutrients very differently and in varied amounts.
It is thus my understanding, that there is no one diet that is guaranteed to work for everyone, and that no diet is more spiritually superior to another.
Do your best, give gratitude, follow your instinct and I believe you'll be fine.

  39. I disagree about the raw diet. The healthiest diet is a whole food plant based diet that includes both raw and cooked foods like legumes and potatoes, especially sweet potatoes. And mushrooms need to be cooked and they are extremely healthy and they dversify the diet.

  40. as a vegan, i am probably one of the most unhealthy vegans. I didnt know how to get the protein I needed. I was convinced that just as long as i wasn't eating any animal products that it was good for me. Yikes didnt work but at least i know enough now to get what i do need. I'm sure there is more information that i need to be completely healthy as a vegan but I'm getting there. thank you teal. <3

  41. We need milk and eggs for protein otherwise youll be a skeleton looking so if not meat then at least milk or eggs and dot plus vegatarism is good as well so

  42. I belive that to reach the highest levels of spirituality you cannot consume animal products, because everything has energy that is simply behaving in different ways, so when you place another being's energy in your body you disrupt your own energy and your own energy becomes so impure. Dead animal pieces carry the energy of death and how can we connect with the highest power is the energy of death is blocking us? Just my personal thoughts

  43. I was obsessed to figure my diet out and right now I’m only resonating with the foods I grew up with, it’s not all bad but at the point of exhaustion I can feel that even though I eat or drink that food to have had food, I can feel I’m not at the top of my game like that. I lost weight because of denying myself these foods and not being able to eat or drink, after the first week I wasn’t hungry anymore but at the moment they help me to survive, I was 63kg and now I’m about 54kg week before 53 kg, it’s not life threatening but I don’t have much energy to work because I use my head again but once for myself and sometimes in 3 languages non of which I speak perfect, my mother language is Swiss German and no official written language, we read and write in Hochdeutsch High German. I’m 50 next February. Anyone who’s o struggling, I have to get my head in order before I can concentrate on my perfect diet and I’m sure that happens to others too. I am feeling as I am a toddler and no one but me can see that at the moment. In everything I’m thankful for having lost my baby fat😉😌 and I am grateful to Teal and her team and all the people in my life, because they all had part in my life and added to, and now I’m here, writing in hopes someone finds comfort in my story. Best wishes and energies and compassion and patience and understanding and love to us all❣️❣️❣️

  44. The most 'spiritual' diet is the ketogenic diet.

You can get into ketosis either with a plant-based diet or an animal-based diet. All that is required is limiting carbs. Other things will also increase ketone production. Fasting is a common way to get ketosis started. Even a short fast while sleeping or skipping a meal begins this process. A longer period of aerobic exercise will also start shifting you into ketosis.

But it is fasting that has most commonly been associated with spirituality, as it has been a widespread practice in nearly every religion, especially among those most dedicated to a spiritual path such as monks. Even the calorie-restricted diet typical of many monastic traditions will also promote ketosis.

This isn't only more 'spiritual' in altering your experience of self and the world but also more natural. All humans are born in ketosis and remain in ketosis while being breastfed. Breast milk is the ultimate ketogenic food. For most of human evolution and most of human history, most humans spent most of their time in ketosis.

  45. Been reading and watching a lot from spiritual leader Eckart Tolle, he recently mentioned diets and suggested that it’s different for everyone. I am vegan and therefore disagree so it was profoundly disappointing… Glad I came here to find my favourite guru agrees. ❤️🙏

  46. The only thing I stopped eating meat and my stomach is already so different and I can actually poop everyday as apposed to once or twice a week. Yes, I feel lots better, next will be sugar which is my ❤️. My son says I bleed Dr Pepper not blood 😂
