The difference is how it touches people’s emotions. And how audience eventually make it their own music, is what makes it a miracle. People forget films. No one remembers films these days. They forget themselves in my music. They forget their sorrows and worries. They play my music when they want to sleep and even when they want to stay awake! Rejected tunes have all become popular songs. If I compose a song, no director refuses it. They only want more. I was just composing another song instead of ‘Podhuvaaga En Manasu’ in ‘Murattu Kalai’. ‘Podhuvaga’ was chosen for the film anyway. After five years, I composed another tune which became a super hit. That was ‘Ey Aatha Aathorama’. Both might seem similar, but they are different. Balu Mahendra selected ‘En Iniya Pon Nilave’ and then asked if we could listen to another tune. The tune that was not selected and the one that I played first was ‘Ilaya Nila’. This is a long list! Western, jazz, tribal music – Sapta swarangal is the basis for everything. I am proving that all these forms of music is one. And when that’s the case, what can you name it? I use so many instruments to create music With the help of many musicians and their joy in the swaras, music is made. And that in total, moves audiences. Any art should have performance. There is no music without performance. 30 musicians from Budapest orchestra will be participating. More than listening to the recorded version, this live version will be even more enriching. Me, along with my musicians and technicians have been working hard for this concert. My dear fans, come and get immersed in my music!
