Hello, I am Jorge from the dioceses of Canarias. I belong, from the year 2001, to the priestly fraternity of St. Dominic. This is the reason why I am here today visiting this marvelous priory of Bolonia where the mortal remains of our father repose; and we have also rejoiced in his resurrection in the frescos we have seen. I have always been drawn to Dominic’s mercy toward the poor, the frail. He called sinners. That mercy led me to discover the new face of the merciful and compassionate Christ: from Dominic praying while embracing the cross, to Dominic preaching, walking… itinerant… preacher of grace… And all of this has led me to become involved in this action, which I fulfill as a diocesan priest, in communion with my bishop and the whole Presbyterium, but at the same time embracing Dominic’s spirituality and the mission shared with the secular clergy, and the regular clergy, and also the Dominican lay fraternities, the Dominican youth movement, the cloistered nuns, the religious congregations… The fact that this state of life combines contemplation and action is more than reason enough to justify my membership in the fraternity.
