Destiny 2 Lore Saint-14’s Fate! | Myelin Games

*Spoiler warning*
I never found Osiris, but I’ve killed enough Vex to end a war. And they, in turn, struck a fatal blow: they
completed a Mind with the sole function to drain the Light from me. It worked very well. Don’t worry (not that you worry much). It took them centuries to build, keyed to
the unique frequency of my Light. And I sit atop its shattered husk. Welcome back guardians, today we are discussing
Saint-14, many predicted Saint-14’s return in Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris due to the grimoire
card released with Age of Triumph, Legend: Saint-14. Without doubt the storyline of Saint-14 is
continued in Curse of Osiris, I can say this with great confidence, not only because of
the Lore tabs for Saint-14’s ship, helm and shotgun but I have found in the database
a quest line that involves Saint-14! This is your last chance to leave if you don’t
want to be spoiled. As usual, the artwork in this video was provided
by Gammatrap. All patreon donations go towards paying Gamma
for his artwork for the channel. Patreons get a lot of digital artwork rewards,
please see the link below if you are interested. The first people to tell me about Saint-14
was via twitter, thanks to Billmenowgaming who quoted Mobilefungames and then sionat19
who provided the reddit link by iskanoth. This is myelin games and I hope you enjoy
this latest Destiny 2 Lore episode. [INTRO]
Many predicted the return of Saint-14 in Destiny 2 due to the release of the grimoire card
Legend: Saint-14 during Age of triumph in destiny 1. In this card, Saint-14, is taling with the
Speaker, who he refers to as his father, and Saint-14 has just killed the house of devils
Kell with the infamous Saint-14 headbut. By the way, he is some artwork I had made
years ago now, when I first took interest in Saint-14, it depicts the moments just before
Saint-14 kills the kell. After killing the Kell, Saint-14 vows to return
to mercury to find Osiris, saying “Ghost, prepare my Vex arsenal and plot
a course for Mercury. That old man is about to wake up hell.” So, many predicted that the story of Saint-14
would continue from this moment. Saint-14’s Gray Pigeon ship appears to continue
the storyline, it reads, Ship’s Final Log:
Osiris. I hope whatever you find in this place is
worth it. My recommendation to install you as Vanguard
Commander was not a gesture to stroke your ego. It was an order to stay and help the City
achieve all that it could. An order you refused to follow. News of my demise will no doubt reach you
late. This appears to be Saint-14’s final correspondence
before his death, in the same item, Saint-14 also addresses his Father, saying that his
Duty is at its end, which I assume is a message to the Speaker and finally Saint-14 leaves
a message to his “inspiration” which I will get to in a moment. At this point, we don’t really know how
Saint-14 was killed however, the Shotgun Perfect Paradox, which is etched with the Roman Numerals,
14, appears to continue the storyline. It reads,
I never found Osiris, but I’ve killed enough Vex to end a war. And they, in turn, struck a fatal blow: they
completed a Mind with the sole function to drain the Light from me. It worked very well. Don’t worry (not that you worry much). It took them centuries to build, keyed to
the unique frequency of my Light. And I sit atop its shattered husk. So it appears that the Vex built a machine
to drain Saint-14’s light… and how did they do that? Well, I imagine they constructed a simulation
of Saint-14 first, a simulation to understand Saint-14 and his light. And I believe we can discover this simulation
by venturing into the Dark Future. In the adventure, Up and Up, you enter the
dark future of the Vex, where the Vex are simulating the Fallen. However, if you take a moment to explore this
simulation you will discover something very interesting, within the simulation you can
find a Vex machine, a close by a small window peering into a room. In that room, we see a body floating above
the ground. Is that Saint-14, is this the machine the
Vex built to understand Saint-14, they completed a mind with the sole function to drain the
light from me, keyed to the unique frequence of my light. And I sit atop its shattered husk. This is not Saint-14, this is a simulation
of Saint-14, the machine the Vex built to drain Saint-14’s light. Further supporting this theory, we can see
the ground littered with destroyed Vex and the body is draped in these ribbons, which
are very similar to ribbons seen upon Saint-14’s ship. Lastly, the thing that really cements this
theory is a questline found in the Destiny 2 database. Have a look at the descriptions for these
quests, Not Even the Darkness
Enter the Infinite Forest in pursuit of Saint-14. And
Visit the Lighthouse Tell Brother Vance about the fate of Saint-14. I am predicting that we will be able to complete
a quest where we have to investigate the fate of Saint-14 and that it will lead us to the
dark future and we will either enter this room or have to look into this room once again. After that we will report back to Brother
Vance and I imagine the quest will finish with receiving Saint-14’s shotgun, Perfect
Paradox. Now here is where it gets really interesting. As I mentioned before, Saint-14’s ship details
3 messages, one message to Osiris, one message to his Father, i.e. the speaker and the final
message to his “Inspiration”. It reads,
To my inspiration. Your final gift to me I now send back to you. It will be good to see you again. The final paragraph of the Perfect Paradox
reads, All I have left is this weapon. The Cryptarchs say you crafted it yourself,
built it out of scraps and Light and sheer will, inside the Infinite Forge. I’ll make sure it finds its way back to you. When you gave it to me, I swore I would make
it my duty to follow your example. I’m still trying. —Saint-14
Who is this inspiration, I do not think it is Osiris, because in the ships log, Saint-14
leaves a separate message for Osiris. It seems like Saint-14’s inspiration made
the shotgun in the Infinite forge, then gifted it to Saint-14 and then Saint-14 gifted it
back to them, upon dying. So the question is, who is Saint-14’s inspiration? Well, I assume we will receive the Shotgun,
so does that mean we made the Shotgun and gifted it to Saint-14, how can that be, we
have never met Saint-14, well Guardian that is why the Shotgun is called the Perfect Paradox,
we have not met Saint-14 or crafted his shotgun in the infinite forge, yet somehow he is returning
the gun to us that we made for him. It is a perfect paradox. That concludes this latest Destiny 2 lore
episode, if you would like to support the channel, please leave the word “Perfect
Paradox”. As usual it has been a pleasure, this is myelin
games. Peace.

  1. In the french version it says muse instead of inspiration . I suspect that this « muse » is might actually be someone else , someone who saint-14 might have a close relationship with . I’m actually thinking a member of the Bray family , the female guardian that we see on the second dlc’s cover . We know that those Brays tend to create ships and guns among many other things .

  2. So I’m sure you’ve seen the inside of the tomb. Could it be a possibility that the “light source” is actually saint -14’s light being drawn away by the mind the vex created to do so? It all looks like it’s going to the ceiling.

  3. Ok ok ok look I love this videos you make but wow the hurt my head🤣😂🤣😂! Plz keep up the amazing work

  4. In all of Destiny lore from the Vault of Glass to Rise of Iron and beyond, Saint 14 has always intrigued me and I'm keen to find out what has happened to him.(Perfect Paradox) Thanks for the video Myelin!

  5. Nice to know destiny doesn’t like their lore characters so they make them leave after a campaign (curse of Osiris) or just fucking then it would be interesting to have saint 14 and Osiris at the tower talking to each other or appear as a event

  6. It would be cool if the real saint 14 got into that simulation looking for Osiris and then a boss fight against him because he was driven mad by his time lost in the infinite forest and believes you are just another simulation

  7. I feel the paradox is actually going to have to be accepted eventually. If osiris or someone has the ability to understand what exactly time is, then we will eventually lead into this paradox.

  8. to be honest i like the way this story is implemented. it reminds me of dark souls storytelling, with enigmatic dialogs and item descriptions. if it was bungies purpose (and not just lack of good narration that im trying to excuse) than i really like it.

  9. Okay question. Since the infinite forest is just a simulation wouldn’t that mean he didn’t die? Even though they drained the light. He would still live because it’s just a simulation?

  10. On all planets, minus one, we do the weapon quest and we get a legendary weapon but it's only halfway. Speaking of halfway, notice how we got the shotgun Halfway…. I think that would be badass if at the end of the weapon forge grind part 2 of this quest shows up it envolves us meeting Saint-14 and giving us just a little more of a glimps of what happened, and how we first met.

  11. **spoiler alert****

Finished the quest line involving saint 14 as of a moment ago. He fought bravely for decades in the infinite forest searching for osiris. The room is indeed his burial site, and he lays there, in his tomb built by the infinite forest, upon the corpses of thousands of vex.

  12. Also, I really hope you see this but I have a theory. What if almost or all of the planets controlled by the vex have a planetary core, like Argos in the water of worlds, reply if you want to hear the rest of my theory ( let's be honest u probably won't 😂👍)

  13. I feel like saint 14 is not dead since it is the dark future. But I think he will return in the next dlc since he was obsessed with the fallen but went missing looking for his friend just like osiris on mercury.

  14. Maybe before we were resurrected in destiny 1 we had met saint 14 and f eyes his shotgun, we don’t remember because we had been “dead a long time”

  15. I been doing this mission and for some reason I don't go to the future* do I need to kill every enemy before because I kill the captain on Mercury and then the mission ends ….

  16. I still think he will be able to get revived since all his light is around him. Also its the future when we see him floating there and maybe there may be a mission to change his fate aswell. Also since his light is still active a ghost might revive him. i do not think he is permanently dead.

  17. Since destiny 1 I got very interested in the lore of Saint-14. When I got to the point of the weapon quest line where you had to find him in D2 I got so excited, but at the same time you had to try and find him and "bring him home". After that I had a feeling Bungie was going to most likely have him be dead at the end cause its easier to have a cosmetic corpse than it is for him to have animation, dialogue and possible cut scenes, which pissed me off cause in my opinion its Bungie half assing something that's been exciting since D1 🙁 . still it was amazing and hope in future maybe they could bring him back somehow. wishful thinking, but would be cool 🙂

  18. perfect paradox It's a bit strange and I don't entirely understand how Saint 14 could be dead for one instance we are talking about the infinite Forest in the infinite Forest its entire simulation so at this point I actually do believe Saint 14 not to be dead

  19. Play the adventure Lost Crew on Nessus. There is a line where the vex refer to guardians as "thise who use what we can't simulate"

  20. Also if you read the description of Saint-14’s helm they mentioned our guardian and saint 14’s beliefs. I think we are his inspiration

  21. The Vex do have the capability to travel through timelines, so now that Osiris owns the Infinite Forest, and we do forge the shotgun, it would make sense that in a future DLC, we go back in time to (perhaps) take part in the Battle of 6 Fronts and other past legendary battles, meet all the legendary characters from the time to include Saint-14, see the Golden Age and help the Traveler battle the Darkness (new race) the first time (Help Past Rasputin, etc.), give Saint-14 the shotgun that we forged in the future present, he does all his legendary stuff, and then returns it to us now.

  22. since that is a simulation of saint-14 than where is he now? could there be a quest line where we can help/save saint-14s life?

  23. Hey Myelin games, i would be intrested on doing a fan comic for destiny lore you can put up on your Chanel for free
If you want to see my work check out my twitter account @mehalo3 Metacon, i have been using MS PAINT, but i just got Photoshop

  24. saint 14 is the equivalent of a rogue sweeper bot frame to me, or at least when he finds out "his dad" is "dead", i believe he will achieve what kabr couldnt. to become one with the vex & be in control. of himself or the vex themselves. stuff like his light being drained & being a machine like the vex, with the physical assimilation of ashers body makes me think that the vex are becoming US. guardians, because they needed our light to stop the taken(darkness) in D1. regardless every race besides humanity, actually knows some totality of wtf is actually truth in destinys story.

  25. Maybe saint 14 is stuck in a vex time loop and like maybe in the story you eventually give him the shot gun and it gets documented on the gun, and then he gives it back by sending it through time to another version of you(by another version just imagine another version like a past you but a quite recent past version. Like in harry potter with the whole buckbeak thing), in the form of that box at you use to actually make the gun, before you even make the gun. Then the "other version" of you has this gun that the original version had already made. So the other version gives the shotgun back to the looping saint 14 and the cycle repeats.

  26. >saint-14 meets ‘inspiration’
    >’inspiration’ gives him a badass weapon he/she created himself/herself
    >saint-14 sends the weapon back
    >we find the weapon
    >we go through a vex teleporter
    >we meet a newer version of saint-14
    >read the comment again 😉

  27. Conspiracy theory: did he really die or was the body the prototype or did they drain his light and leave his body, and then he will get his light back

  28. If the guardian is the inspiration then perhaps Saint-14 his from a different time and is actually from the future, as the curse of Osiris is the first time we get the perfect paradox but don't give it to anyone like saint-14 says he give it to his inspiration who made it in the forge but the guardian makes it so maybe saint-14 is still alive or might not have been made a guardian yet.

  29. If makes me sad that they legendary guardians talked about in the lore are dead. It was awesome to see Osiris and what if they made a dlc for every legend? One for Kabr, Praedyth, Dredgen Yor, Radegast, Toland the Shattered, Saint-14, Shin Malphur etc

  30. I think it's shaxx, just like at the wall of Twilight Gap, he stood to his very end despite the orders given by lord Saladin only difference is he did it without the light A Warrior's death.

  31. At the very end something or someone will send us back in time to the beginning of the collapse where we see everything that happened with the darkness and the traveler, we’ll survive then meet saint-14 we are his inspiration.

  32. I was thinking perhaps there was a possibility that his inspiration could like you said in the video be us, but from another timeline or a branched off future that is parallel to ours. Or his inspiration could be an old generation guardian…

  33. Inspiration = Ghost?

    *Ghost meets Saint-14 before us*

×Ghost forged weapons before for Guardians (i.e. Gjallarhorn)x

+Saint-14 says weapon will find it's way back to "you" *"you" probably meaning Ghost*+

  34. So if we made the shotgun and we gifted it to Saint-14, and when he gifted it back to us, does it not mean that we will give Saint-14 his shotgun back? To fulfil the paradox?
