RCT quickie number one notable people
who considered the religious life Galileo Galilee hey-oh Galileo did
indeed seriously consider the priesthood in his younger years at his father’s
urging he enrolled at the University of Pisa to study medicine instead although
he did end up having two illegitimate daughters who became nuns Martin
Scorsese Scorsese grew up in a devout Italian Catholic family in New York he
did consider the priesthood but he ended up going into film so basically if
Scorsese had gone to the seminary the world never would have gotten that
iconic tracking shot from Goodfellas and never would have been cursed with The
Wolf of Wall Street so a bit of a mixed bag Ann Hathaway Hathaway was raised in
a Catholic household apparently she felt a strong call to be a nun around the age
of eleven but then at 15 she learned her brother Michael was gay and so she quote
couldn’t support a religion that didn’t support my brother thus she went to
acting other big names from the movie industry include documentary filmmaker
Michael Moore and Tom Cruise believe it or not Tom Cruise actually got kicked
out of the seminary and finally John Kerry former US Secretary of State and
presidential candidate John Kerry is the son of an Episcopal mother but was
raised in his father’s Catholic faith he was an altar boy and he considered
becoming a priest needless to say he went the Lay way instead lay way is
that a valid term it is now there you have it
