A Recap of the Rome Italy Temple Media Day

Speaking Italian Journalists and local dignitaries gather
at the site of the recently completed Rome Italy Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints It is a delight for me and for Sister Bednar and my associates to be here with all of you today in Rome. Members of the Quorum of
the Twelve Apostles say the Church is 162nd temple and the first in Italy
contributes to a cradle of Christianity. I’m just very humbled to be here and to
think that we’re walking in the footsteps of those original Apostles. The historical home to the Savior’s disciples is now home to a religious and cultural complex complete with a chapel, patron housing and an impressive visitor center. This is a very special place that we’re in right here and I hope that the
members and the missionaries bring their family and their friends and teach the
gospel of Christ right here in this visitors’ center. Civic leaders tour the 15
acre site, afterwards acknowledging the value of religious inclusion and of the
strong family focus. Very glad to host this place and we believe in the
respecting of differences in different religions and as administrators of the
city that’s one of our main goals and what we’ve been trying to do. In a Center
where visitors are invited to experience peace and tranquility, the Christus is a
point of reference for people of all faiths to live a higher and holier life. As we present who we are through the temple and keep being good disciples
of the Lord Jesus Christ day after day, be good people, good citizens and they
will see and they will they will join us. Anywhere a temple is announced and
constructed and dedicated and blesses the people, it brings a power to that
place. It’s the power of the ordinances, the power of the covenants, the power of the light that emanates from the temple. Public tours are underway and will culminate in the dedication of the sacred temple March
10th.
