2019 OLLU Women’s Soccer Preview

We had a young group
of players come and they were able to re-establish the culture that we’ve had over the years here and really kind of turn things around
from a rough season two years ago. The cohesiveness within the group
and establishing the relationships really helped our performance
on the field. We had several players who came in and
contributed significantly – you’re looking at the Zapata twins –
they came in and did a great job; Dawson Brinkley came in and did a fantastic job;
Jalen Seto…I could go on and on because that whole class came in and really contributed greatly to the success of what we were able to do last
year so the expectation is that they’re going to come in and be able to
continue to perform and build off of the successes that they were able to
establish last year. We have quite a few, it’s hard to really narrow it down. We just want to make sure that first and foremost that they buy into it
to what we’re trying to sell and that is focusing on team camaraderie and making
sure that they’re understanding the culture of the program so that way
we can we continue to build off of last year’s progress. It’s never gonna be easy. The opposition is always gonna be tough as a
program who historically has been top one, two, three in the conference.
You’re always going to get the best of everybody and rightfully so and
we should thrive on that, and we should look forward to that and we welcome
it. When you look at the LSUA and the
the LSUS, Houston Victoria, Texas A&M Texarkana –
they’re going to be good and so you have to make sure that you’re adequately
prepared mentally and physically so that way when the time comes you can
step up to the challenge.
